Before checking what Apple’s new technology, 3D Touch is, let's start with a [real] joke!
iPhone 6s introduces an entirely new way to interact with smart phones. For the first time, iPhone senses how much pressure you apply to the display. In addition to familiar Multi‑Touch gestures like Tap, Swipe and Pinch, 3D Touch introduces Peek and Pop. 3D Touch senses how much pressure you apply to the iPhone’s display. Apple says that when you press the display, capacitive sensors measure microscopic changes in the distance between the cover glass and the backlight. Apple’s software will then determine how much pressure is being applied, and dynamically adapt based on the context.
