A type of computer security vulnerability, typically found in web applications, that enables malicious attackers to inject client-side script into web pages viewed by other users, so allows attackers to bypass client-side security mechanisms, and gain elevated access privileges to sensitive page content, session cookies, etc. maintained by the browser on behalf of the users: Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)
